Last Updated: February 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Leadiary ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you visit our website or use our application, including the Leadiary Chrome Extension, and tell you about your privacy rights.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect, use, store, and transfer different kinds of personal data about you, which we have grouped together as follows:
- Identity & Contact Data: Includes first name, last name, email address, and billing information when you subscribe to our service.
- Technical Data: Includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting, and operating system.
- Usage Data: Information about how you use our website, products, and services, such as the trackers you create, the leads you save to your Active Pipeline, and interaction logs in your Diary.
3. Chrome Extension Specific Privacy Disclosures
To comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, we explicitly disclose the following regarding the Leadiary Chrome Extension:
- Browser Permissions Justification: The extension requests
tabsandscriptingpermissions, alongside specifichost_permissions(such as LinkedIn, X, Quora, and Nairaland). These permissions are strictly required for the extension's single purpose: to open temporary, muted background tabs, run search queries based on your defined keywords, and extract the resulting public text data. - Data Scraped: The extension only collects publicly visible information resulting from your specific search queries. This includes the public post content, the public author's display name or handle, and the URL of the post.
- No Credential Harvesting: We do not collect, store, transmit, or process your personal passwords, login credentials, direct messages, private connections, or session cookies from these platforms.
- No Active Browsing Surveillance: The extension does not track your general web browsing history or monitor tabs outside of the temporary search tabs it opens for scheduled scanning.
- Data Security: All data collected by the extension is encrypted both in transit and at rest to protect your privacy and integrity.
- Limited Use Requirement: The data collected by the Leadiary Chrome Extension is used solely to populate your personal Leadiary dashboard with relevant leads. Scans only run when you trigger them manually or when your browser is active. We do not sell your data to third parties, nor do we use it to train generalized AI models outside of your specific workspace context.
4. How We Use Your Data
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:
- To provide and maintain our Service, including routing public data based on your specific Signal Definitions.
- To manage your Account and provide customer support.
- To perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you.
- To improve our AI intent-scoring engine and service offerings (using aggregated, anonymized data only).
5. Data Security
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered, or disclosed. We limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, and contractors who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
6. Data Retention
We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or reporting requirements. You may export your Leads data (CSV/JSON) or delete your account at any time from your settings dashboard.
